Drama continues to unfold in BBN house

Joseph, Ify, Frank and Ebuka were nominated as possible evictees during a mind-boggling nomination show that seemed more like a battle for supremacy. Joseph, Frank and Ebuka got three votes each while Ify, the only female housemate up for eviction this week, got four votes. But what seems apparent is that housemates are out to settle personal scores rather than evicting the least favourite housemate as judging by the reasons they give. Often we hear Frank saying “someone has go” as the reason for nominating his fellow housemates while others fail to give convincing reasons when nominating possible evictees. With Ichemeta, Yinka, Chinedu, Joan and Maureen having already departed the house, the pressure is still on to see just who would leave next. Meanwhile, in a show that featured Nigerian superstar Onyeka Onwenu, the majority public opinion saw 22-year-old Bachelor of Science student Gideon evicted from BBN. Gideon gained 56.4% of the public vote while fellow nominee Francisca gained 43.6% of the public vote. When host Olisa Adibua made the announcement, Gideon became the sixth housemate to leave the show, after spending 7 weeks in the Big Brother Nigeria house. And as he made his way out through the carved wooden doors of the BBN house, Gideon bid farewell to the 8 remaining BBN housemates and the show’s US$ 100 000 grand prize! In the moments after he was evicted, Gideon watched a special edited insert that showed his stay in the Big Brother Nigeria house. And he found out just which of his fellow housemates had nominated him, along with Francisca, for this week’s public vote. In an interview with Olisa after his eviction, Gideon revealed his surprise at his nominations saying that three nominations from his fellow housemates would have been acceptable but to have gained five nominations was unexpected. Reuniting with family and friends, Gideon will now head into a busy week including media interviews and more. Audiences are also reminded that this week two or more housemates will be up for eviction and once more the public can vote out the person they’d most like to see leave the show. Meanwhile the week ahead will the see housemates engaged in a fun Fashion Week task to create their own designs and stage their own fashion show . . . Stay tuned for catwalk creativity from Big Brother Nigeria! DStv audiences can watch Big Brother Nigeria 24 hours daily on Channel 37, including the Monday night Nomination Show and the Sunday night Eviction Show. In addition, there’s a Big Brother Nigeria weekly Highlights Show on M-Net and/or AfricaMagic.
