TELE concert rocks Harare
TELE was playing a good mixture of songs from their CD “Wovon sollen wir leben” as well as some new songs that are part of a CD that will be released end of this year. It did not take long until people were heading to the dance floor in front of the stage.
Dudu Manhenga surprised TELE singer Francesco Wilking when she joined him during the song “Wovon sollen wir leben” and gave her interpretation of the song with English lyrics, creating a truly Zimbabwean-German blend.
Stefan Wittlich on drums, Patrick Reising on keyboards, Martin Brombacher on guitar, J’rg Holdinghausen on bass and Tobias Rod’bel on guitar gave everything and the crowd asked for more!
Her Excellency the German Ambassador Karin Elsa Blumberger-Sauerteig joined the dancing crowd and sang along with the background vocals on stage for the last song that was performed together by both bands.
The concert ended with all musicians on stage, giving an interpretation of the song “Please call 911”, and the audience loved how they improvised with the theme and got it all together.
Both TELE and Dudu Manhenga and the Color Blu said that their music blended very well and that there was an immediate connection between them making the whole day spent together as well as the concert easy and relaxed.
Dudu Manhenga and the Color Blu are heading for South Africa now, where they will be playing at the famous Grahamstown Arts Festival end of June and are eager to explore possibilities to perform in Germany in the future.
Organizers Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Zimbabwe-German Society / Goethe-Zentrum Harare were happy to see that all musicians took up the opportunity of exchange to the fullest in the short time given ‘ as TELE had to leave early Sunday morning for Tanzania.
They perform in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Madagascar before flying to Berlin, just in time to watch the Soccer World Cup final games at home.
