SADC congratulates South Africa



The media release issued here Monday said that the entry of the Republic of South Africa into the Security Council is indeed a significant development for Continental, International and in particular for SADC Region’s peace and security.

“SADC is very proud that with his development, articulation of regional concerns on issues that impede development and better living conditions will be faster and better managed due to the privileged position of South Africa being within the Council.”

It said that the continent’s collective voice of weaker nations will be heard much louder due to South Africa’s proximity to powerful nations that influence international relations, diplomacy on South Africa during its membership to the Security Council because of the high expectations borne out of too much suffering of the millions of poor African people.

It is SADC’s hope and expectations that whilst the Republic of South Africa is on the UN Security Council, significant progress will be achieved on issues that have continued to undermine the sanctity of human relations and existence by improving regional, continental and indeed world peace and security. ‘ NAMPA.
