Nujoma blasts homosexuals
Nujoma said while freedom enhanced the welfare of society, it also brought forth some negative foreign influences which were not only eroding the cultural and traditional norms, but which had become a threat to the general well-being of society.
In a speech read on his behalf by Swapo Member of Parliament and Minister of Safety and Security Peter Tsheehama during the official opening of the Swapo Women’s Council congress in Rundu, Nujoma singled out such influences as the promotion of sexual relations between the same sexes.
“Our country has a very small population and we need to multiply,” he said, adding Namibia would continue to be a small nation if people promoted same sex relationships among the youth.
He then urged Namibian men and women to rally together as a nation in condemnation and rejection of such foreign influences.
