WINTER BASICS

There's no need to choose between fashion and function this season.  The chilly, blustery days of winter are upon us, be warm and chic this winter.  Just because the temperature has plummeted doesn't mean you have to let your fashion game drop too.  There is a variety of wearable and warm winter fashion trends, to layering a fuzzy sweater-over leggings to knee-high boots to statement coats, the list is endless.

Great materials for winter are definitely wool, cashmere, tweed, flannel, velvet and even leather, which is a cool statement piece.

Winter blazer – Every girl needs a well-tailored, fitting blazer. During winter it can be a perfect way to layer your clothes (a blouse, blazer and a coat) so you can easily adapt to temperatures outside or inside.

Boots – High heels, flats, thigh high, knee high, ankle boots or just good old combo boots, winter's got nothing on them.

Wool coat – Wool coats are a necessity in these cold days.  Choose something in neutral, winter-friendly colours such as navy, camel, grey, wine red or black. Consider investing in a quality wool coat, because they will never go out of fashion.

Cashmere sweater – You can basically pair it with anything – leggings, jeans, leather pants, and it will instantly add some glam to your outfit.

Scarves, hats, gloves – Winter accessories are rather more useful than beautiful. However, this is no reason to not wear them in style. Chunky scarves keep you warm and they are a great addition to a casual outfit. The scarf can be the key element of your outfit. The hat is not really a fashion statement; however, celebrities are wearing it very often. Leather gloves are a stylish choice, especially for elegant outfits. If you wear a chic and feminine coat, accessorise it with a pair of leather gloves. Coloured gloves are trendy this winter, regardless if they are leather or knitted gloves.

Break up a dark look with fun printed oxfords. Add a pop of colour with a beanie, scarf or gloves – some colours look really good with neutrals, for example turquoise, and bold fuchsia.

A printed sweater, colourful sneakers, and a knit hat make for a playful, comfy combo.
