DARK SKIN TONE MAKE UP

To maintain flawless beautiful looking skin, women need to take good care of their skin and maintain youthful looks and by practicing a daily regimen.  Whether it be avoiding the sun or moisturizing every day as well as exfoliating, this regimen is practiced faithfully.

While choosing make up products, women with a dark skin tone need to be little more careful as all types of make up products will not embrace dark skin tone.

Exfoliation, is a must, it is the removal of dead skin cells that collect on the outer surface of the skin.  Skin brushing, exfoliating cloths and gloves are used as a method of exfoliation and it produces good blood circulation.

• Exfoliating keeps the skin soft and glowing,

• Buffing the dead skin away will keep your pores from clogging which keeps acne under control,

• Exfoliating speeds up your skins natural renewal process and helps your moisturizer penetrate into the skin deeper,

• Removal of dead skin cells helps with skin discoloration, and

• Routine exfoliation leads to visibly brighter skin and it keeps fine lines and wrinkles in check.

Foundation – To enhance dark skin tone, use a foundation that is light in texture. The foundation should complement your skin’s undertone.   When applying foundation make sure to blend it properly to avoid any uneven tone.   When applying foundation,  you want to create a seamless finish and gradual transition between the lighter part of the face (which is, usually, the center) and darker parts of complexion (which are, usually, the forehead and perimeter).

If you want to play with the warmer tone, then find a shade that falls somewhere in between the lighter and darker part of your face and apply all over your face.  Because, if you simply apply a foundation that matches only the darker part of your skin (or a lighter part), it simply won’t look natural.

Concealer –   If there is the need to correct any discolouration of skin or hide some of your facial faults, then it is recommended to use an orange or red-based concealer to neutralize the darkness.  After using the concealer do not forget to set it lightly with loose powder.

Blush – Peachy coral, deep orange and burnt pink blush colours on the cheeks look the best on dark complexions as it adds warmth to the complexion.  Such shades will show through the skin tone, creating a subtle flush on the cheeks.

Lipstick –  Deep shades of lipstick, such as plums, wines and deep reds are the best colours for dark skinned girls.  Reds with burgundy and browns are excellent tones to work with for dusky skin.  Dark burgundy lipstick shades instantly add glam to lips.  For a glossy look you can apply clear lip gloss on top of your lipstick shade.

Lip liner –  Those having dark complexion can use lip liner to play with their natural mouth shape.  To make lips look fuller, use a lip liner to draw just outside the natural shape of your lips.

Eye shadow – The majority of dark skinned ladies have either dark brown or hazel eyes, therefore, the best colors that complement those tones would be deep shades of purple It is recommended to use eye shadow in dark browns, green, deep purple, copper, prunes and burgundy shades.  You can blend a dark eye shadow colour into your crease to create a smoky eye look.
