Namibian vies for ‘This is Your Life Change’ boot camp

Windhoek- Self-made life coach Mark Bowness, a former school cleaner from the Wirral, in the United Kingdom is renting the paradise island to run a lifestyle ‘boot camp’ aimed at changing the lives of six random strangers.

Through ‘This is Your Life Change’ competition Bowness is giving six individuals the ultimate adventure of an all-expenses paid trip to a 200 acre-island in Fiji where their lives will be transformed, forever.

And 26-year old Elizabeth Mununga Mbambi is one of the top 50 finalist candidates competing to be one of the six candidates. The life change competition started in February, with 3 500 candidates from world over, who were trimmed down to 50 semi-finalists that were announced on the April 1, 2015.

“I’m one step closer to winning the competition. The top 50 semi-finalists will need to compete for a place in the final top six that will be heading to the island for the life change reality television show,’’ said Mbambi.

“With this competition Bowness wants six people worldwide that he will take to a remote island in Fiji and help to change their lives and in return they are going to come back changed and they will change their community and touch the lives of people worldwide,” Mbambi said.

“I will need my country to support my story through the media, for the people to go on my Facebook page like it and leave comments as in why they want me to be part of the final six people to go to this life changing event in the island. I am not doing this for myself but for my country as well.”

She further said that the judges will chose the six candidates by the way they market themselves through media by getting more media coverage. The candidates should also show how much they want to be part of the final six.

Mbambi who works for an insurance broker in Windhoek said: “The selected six will work with a team of experts including a life coach, business coach and personal trainer to transform them, both physically and mentally, and develop a comprehensive plan to turn their ideas into reality.’’

The life changing prize package is valued at US$200,000 and the whole adventure will be filmed for what Bowness anticipates will become a ground-breaking new TV series, ‘This Is Your Life Change’.

Bowness, 35, currently resides in Melbourne, Australia, and experienced his own ‘life change’ when his marriage suddenly ended nine years ago.

“Mark Bowness is someone with a vision of transforming 10 million lives worldwide. This competition is about everyone with a secret dream or passion and wants it to come to life or reality. He wants to see people living the life that they were created to live.

“He went through a lot, he was a cleaner at a school and tried to commit suicide after his divorce. None of this stopped him from becoming the person that he is today. All he wants to do is to assure people that their lives too can be changed and that they can live a life that they were created to live,’’ she said.

Mbambi is the only African taking part in the competition. Born in Rundu, in Kavango East, she grew up in the mining town of Rosh Pinah in the /Karas region. Mbambi is also a budding entrepreneur having established a travel company to cater for kayaking, water rafting, mountain climbing, mountain biking and quad biking enthusiasts.
