HARARE-Southern Africa hip-hop fans that have been waiting with bated breath for the release of Cassper Nyovest’s new offering will be pleased to know that the album drops on 7 May 2017.
The rapper revealed the release date of his third upcoming album, which he described as triple platinum on VUZU Amp on DStv’s channel 103.
Prior to the album launch, the ‘Mama I Made It’ singer had unveiled his own clothing line comprising mostly casual wear.
In an interview with VUZUAmp, Cassper said the merchandise will be available from his Family Tree chain stores in South Africa.
“The album is coming on May 7, I never said this but that’s the date and my clothing line is more of casual wear.
“We’re keeping the style at the minimum because some of my fans are grown-ups and they don’t like anything fancy or colourful.
“There is a whole range of clothes [up] to head gear,” he said.
Cassper, whose real name is Refiloe Maele Phoolo, is one of the talented and enterprising hip-hop stars to emerge from South Africa.
He has since branched out from music to venture into other business, including his own clothing line.
With just two albums to his credit ‘Tsholofelo’ and ‘Refiloe’ Cassper topped the list of South Africa’s Hottest MCs of 2016 by MTV Base for his two albums.
The list was compiled by a panel of judges, which included veteran rappers and influencers from South Africa.
The list was based on these six pointers: impact, style, lyrics, sales, buzz, and other intangibles
Cassper received nine nominations at the 2016 SA Hip Hop Awards.
