HARARE – Zimbabwe’s superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and Motswana’s own songstress, Charma Gal, have done a duet, which will be released before year end.
The two spent the greater part of this week recording at Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton, west of Harare.
Sam Mataure, who doubles as Mtukudzi’s drummer and manager, confirmed the duet saying it was worth the wait.
“This is something that fans from not only Zimbabwe and Botswana have been waiting for but also the entire region.
“As you might be aware, Mtukudzi enjoys working with young artistes in as much as he enjoys working with established musicians.
“It’s a duet worth waiting for,” Mataure said.
Asked when the duet will be released, Mataure could not give a date but said it will be out before the end of the year.
Mtukudzi commands a huge following in Botswana and Charma Gal is slowly making her presence felt on the Zimbabwe’s music scene.
This is her second major collaboration after she recorded another duet titled “Dali Wangu” featuring Jah Prayzah.
Keen Mushapaidze, Jah Prayzah’s band manager, confirmed early this week that another duet from the two is also on the way.
