VP Mphoko meets Namibian Provincial Governor

Harare, Zimbabwe-Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko today met visiting Namibian governor of the Kavango East region Dr Samuel Mbambo who had brought a delegation to learn about food production.

“We are here to learn about food production in Zimbabwe. We have just started a small project, Operation Termites on working together because termites work very hard to store food.

“We thought it wise to come to Zimbabwe to learn more about how to produce food,” Dr Mbambo told media after the meeting.

He said Namibia had so much to learn from Zimbabwe.

“But also as friends and comrades who fought with us in the liberation struggle, we are in the same war but this time against poverty, hunger and to empower our people to be self-reliant,” he said.

Zimbabwe and Namibia are already cooperating in the areas of health, women empowerment, sports and recreation as well as the power sector.

When Namibian President Dr Hage Geingob visited Zimbabwe in April when he also opened the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, he said his country needed Zimbabwe to assist in addressing its historical land imbalances. (source: New Ziana)
