WINDHOEK – The Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Christopher Mushohwe has sent a message of condolence to the government and people of Namibia over the loss of liberation icon Andimba Toivo ya Toivo.
Minister Mushohwe, who is here to witness the signing of a revised Memorandum of Understanding on information sharing between Namibia and Zimbabwe, said Zimbabwe was quiet saddened by the death of ya Toivo and that is why President Mugabe sent a high-powered delegation to his funeral.
Ya Toivo died on 9 June and was buried at the National Heroes Acre on 24 June.
“He was a stalwart, one of the kind of revolutionaries that the nationalists and founding fathers really depended on. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
