DURBAN – South African Information Minister Ayanda Dlodlo has honoured former ANC Youth League (ANCYL) secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa.
Dlodlo observed a moment of silence during her keynote opening address of the SADC ICT ministerial meeting here.
“I am dedicating my speech to the late former ANC Youth League secretary general Sindiso Magaga,” she said, adding that Magaga was a true champion of economic transformation.
She added that although the event was not a party political event, the aim was to emulate young Africans who want to see economic freedom in their lifetime.
Magaga, she said, was one such young African especially when the region is discussing matters aimed at improving the lives of its citizens.
Magaqa, a ward councillor in Umzimkhulu in southern KwaZulu-Natal, died at the Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban on Monday from gunshot wounds he sustained in a suspected ambush in July. He was 35 years old.
SADC information communication technology ministers are meeting here to discuss issues to do with the sector in the region.
