UNAM, COTA Forge Partnership
Windhoek – The University of Namibia (UNAM) and the College of the Arts (COTA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to enable both institutions to share facilities, lecturers and knowledge.
“We strongly believe in partnerships and co-operation because we know we can learn from one another and share the experience. Also this trains people to appreciate what is often unappreciated,” says UNAM Professor Osmund Mwandemele.
Prof Mwandemele added that the signing of the MoU is a platform for the institutions to work together. “We have signed a MoU with the International University of Management two years ago and it is going very well, after all we all have one aim in common ‑ which is shaping the future of this nation,” Prof Mwandemele enthused.
On her part, Erina Junius ‑ Rector of COTA‑ said “This is very important for us from the College of the Arts as we want to strengthen those around us through what we have. We are very glad that we can now officially take your hand, as this is a small brotherhood in the arts.”
COTA offers vocational courses in performing arts, media arts and visual arts through courses, projects and workshops leading to certificate and applied arts diploma qualifications at national and international levels.
